Wire grass B16: Biennial Exhibition Opening

Hello... I know it's been a while, but the past month has been a BLUR! Cat and I delivered "The Remainder of Unusable Equations" to the WMA July 15th, headed to visit her family's farm in Mississippi for the weekend, drove home, headed back to Dothan for the WMA's B16 opening, and then headed home where I have been on a roll working on many new large sculptures and a whole new batch of works on paper! To say the least, we haven't had a spare moment to update the news blog.

    Featured Sculpture: Techno-Primitive II

This week I would like to feature a public/outdoor sculpture entitled, "Techno-Primitive II". It is the second of a series of two. They are both large-scale sculptures featuring giant ceramic "heads" in the middle of steel sprues. The ceramic heads feature many layers of different glazes, including a "top secret" glaze that I invented in order for the head to have a very textured surface. This particular piece was on display in downtown Charlotte, NC for over a year as pub

    Saatchi Art - Pàquin Collections

There are many platforms for artists to present their works these days, Saatchi Art is one of the best platforms available. It is very user-friendly for both buyer and artist. I have just spent the past few days updating my Saatchi Artist Profile, and thought I'd share it with you all. Click here for: Ralph Pàquin - Saatchi Art Collections On another note, starting today, Cat will be reshooting my older works because they desparately need better pictures to represent their

    Update & 1st Featured Sculpture

Happy 2016 Everyone! I have decided to try to post between 1 to 2 blogs per week, it’s no resolution; it’s to keep you all updated and keep me interacting with you! First, there will be a weekly featured piece of artwork with details, pictures and a selling price in case you, or someone you know, might be interested in adding one of my sculptures to your collection. Many of the photographs of my older sculptures need to be retaken, so I will be posting new pictures of them a

Studio Nearly Finished, Time to Work!

Hey Everyone, I know it's been quite some time since Cat or I have been able to post any updates. We have been so busy remodeling the new "old" studio, and getting it set up so I can begin to create again! We almost have everything moved in and I began to be able to work about a month ago. Now it's tme to let you all see some pictures and be updated more regularly now that we are pretty much situated. Here are some before and after pictures! Mind you this warehouse had b

    Half of the Storage Space

Good Evening Everyone... Sorry for the choppy pano picture, but there's not enough light in the storage space to do an good pano so this will have to do. You'll need to zoom in to see all of the details, but here's just HALF of everything in storage. It is really incredible to see everything on level ground since it was being stored on 2 separate loft areas in my old studio, and this is just half of it! Each pallet is jammed packed weighing between 1,000-2,000 lbs. It took

Big News! New Studio: Moving Has Begun!

Good Evening! I'm pleased to finally announce that I am moving into a much larger, and much needed new studio! Cat and I are looking forward to this new adventure. This larger space will allow me to work on several projects at once, and I am looking forward to being able to get back to making art instead of packing and moving art. There's a lot of work to do as this large, historic space is in the process of being renovated, but my tools and all of my artworks, are being pac

    New Horizons

Hey Everyone! I have some great news on the horizon, but not ready to release it quite yet. In the mean time, I’ve been cleaning out my studio, moving some sculptures around to make room for some new and big adventures. Create something today. - RP Here's why things need to move around... All of my sculptures are large scale, and I need some room to grow! Pictured here is an older outdoor public sculpture. Keep hanging on, news is around the corner... #ceramic #sprues #met

Special Blog: Get to Know the MadArtist!

Can I just take a few minutes to selfishly, and unselfishly, brag on Ralph so you can get to know the man behind the art? Ok, thanks. For those of you who haven’t had the pleasure of meeting Ralph, let me tell you from the second you meet him, you instantly realize that he is a bonafide artist with amazing energy and a young soul. You can see from the look in his eyes that he is constantly absorbing and processing the visual world around him. When you watch him working at

    Traveling Time

Hope everybody had a wonderful weekend over the 4th of July! We headed down to Atlanta last Thursday to deliver some more sculptures to an amazing gallery. Next we took off to go camping with some friends for the weekend which turned out to be a deluge for the first 24 hours, but it was definitely worth it. Now I'm ready to get back in the studio. Here are some cool shots that Cat took of "Twin-X Chromosomes" before we took it to Atlanta. In the right light... it is stun
